Fashion week style

One of the hottest hair trends for Spring and Summer is the braid. Whether loose and romantic or slicked back and structured, it's one of the most coveted looks for the new season.

Guido Palau, Redken Global Director, was at hand to give the models at Fashion Week SS17 some idyllic looks. The models at Valentino wore texturised loose braids.

“On clean hair, we're braiding using Wind Blown 05 to help texturise. Then we're slightly waving the front around the hairline with a curling iron. It's a very soft, very romantic, very feminine, very girly, very desirable finished look. It's slightly Victorian-inspired but in a 1970's way,” said Guido.

On the contrary, the models at Christian Dior wore ‘tomboy' inspired braids, with a lot of grip and structure. “[Maria Grazia Chiuri – Artistic Director at Christian Dior] liked the idea of almost a young street girl, with a look that you could do yourself. We're using Braid Aid here for a bit of setting power and a bit of grip,” explains Guido.

Will you be recreating these looks in the salon this upcoming season?
