Haircuts for Homeless successfully launched in Leeds
Team Akito launched Haircuts4homelessuk in Leeds on 23rd January 2017 at the St. George's Crypt.
21 people had their hair cut on the day with the feel-good factor a haircut brings setting a great atmosphere at the event.
Haircuts4Homeless UK is a charity community group set up by hairdresser Stewart Roberts.
“It may be ‘just a haircut', but it's the kindness shown that makes a homeless person know that people really care.” says Stewart
St. George's Crypt offers, practical support in terms of getting fed, cleaned up and clothed, as well as offering opportunities to gain skills, self-confidence and a sense of achievement; a place in which people can choose to change.
Team Akito are looking for local hairdressers to donate a couple of hours every four to six weeks to offer haircuts to the homeless of Leeds.
