Winners announced in Free From Skincare Awards 2020

Lithuanian brand Uoga Uoga (‘Berry Berry') has triumphed in the ninth annual Free From Skincare Awards, winning ‘Best Free From Skincare Product' for their Intensive Care Day Cream.

The ‘Best Free From Brand Award' was shared between 2017 winners, Bloomtown, who this year won four category medals, including a Gold in the new Body Oils category, and New Zealand brand Antipodes, who scooped two category Golds.

Free from synthetic fragrances, colours, animal-sourced ingredients, palm-oil derivatives and glycols, Uoga Uoga's Intensive Care Day Cream beat stiff competition from other category winners, including products by first-time participants Annwyn Botanicals and Botanica Nordica, and regulars Green People, Holos Skincare and Dr Lipp.

“It's exciting to have our first ever non-British and non-Irish overall winner of the Awards,” said Awards director, Alex Gazzola. “This year, we had entries from over a dozen countries in mainland Europe, including debuting brands from Romania, Iceland, Belgium, Austria and Slovenia, and the standard throughout has been extremely high.”

Launched in 2012, the Free From Skincare Awards encourage and reward manufacturers of skincare products that are ‘free from' some of the allergens, ingredients, additives and artificial fragrances which consumers with skin sensitivities, health concerns, as well as ethical, personal and environmental values, would like to or need to avoid.

Entries for the 2021 Awards will open in February.
