Success for global wellness event

The eighth annual Global Wellness Day (GWD) was held earlier this month, with a series of special activities taking place throughout the country.
GWD's UK ambassador, Paul Gerrard, led the charge by organising a wellness walk with local businesses, community members and the team from Gerrard International through the leafy Hertfordshire suburb of Elstree and Borehamwood.

On the 8th June (the offical event day), Paul then joined Diane Nettleton of Gaia Skincare for her all levels, free-to-all yoga session, overlooking Newquay's Fistral Beach, which attracted locals, families and visitors to the area.

Other GWD activities around the country included taster fitness sessions at the Four Seasons Hotel in Hampshire and Rosewood London. Worldwide, the likes of British chef, Heston Blumenthal, and TV star, Oprah Winfrey, shot videos enthusing about the benefits of wellness on the day.

“After stumbling across Global Wellness Day online, I feel privileged to have officially introduced it to the UK,” Paul comments. “My purpose is to make GWD UK an established annual event and to have the rest of the country feel just as excited about it as I do.”

Global Wellness Day was founded by Aksoy Belgin in order to raise awareness of wellness around the world. It's currently now celebrated in 130 countries and across seven continents.
