St. Tropez Launch Messenger Bot 'Thea'


This month sees global tanning brand St. Tropez launch Thea; a Facebook Chat Bot designed to offer tanning advice in real time. 

Described as a ‘glowfessional', Thea combines the instantaneous of a Messenger Bot with customer service for a truly personalised St. Tropez tanning consultation, educating consumers on how to discover their ultimate tan. 

Thea will take into consideration the amount of prep time the consumer has, along with their desired shade and the occasion they have in mind. A straight forward diagnosis is then supplied to help any anxious or confused tanner make an informed decision on products that will achieve natural looking tanning results.

Jacqueline Burchell, St. Tropez's Global Marketing and Product Development Director, says: “We're harnessing innovation and technology in a bid to seriously step up our social media engagement and help to educate, inform and entertain consumers on self-tanning.”

Not only will Thea offer top advice on tanning, she will also incorporate augmented reality technology to give users a Tan Mirror to find their perfect shade.

“We realise our St. Tropez consumers are on these channels, and with even more intelligent technology coming via augmented reality, we hope to encourage users to ‘try on' their perfect tan by sharing a selfie with Thea,” explains Jacqueline. “The bot will be able to demonstrate, via Facebook Messenger, what any given shade will look like on their skin, which in turn, will narrow down the search for their ultimate tan.”
