Global Wellness Day returns
The eighth annual Global Wellness Day (GWD) will take place next month.
Shaped by GWD founder, Aksoy Belgin's belief that wellness is an inherent right of every individual, an international network of over 86 volunteer ambassadors now inspire complementary wellness events around the planet.
Last year, more than 100 countries celebrated the day, with over 4,000 locations offering a range of complementary health and wellness activities to the public, including yoga, pilates, workshops relating to nutrition and happiness and therapies on mindfulness and breathing.
As an ambassador of Global Wellness Day 2019, Paul Gerrard, communications director for Gerrard International, aims to see the benchmark for the event move further afield, particularly across the whole of the UK.
“I've been asked whether I feel we have too many days dedicated to mental health and wellness. Sadly, the truth for most people is that there are not enough,” Paul comments. “365 days is about the right number of days that should be dedicated to caring for you and your world. Global Wellness Day isn't about that one day – it's about the other 364 days and what you do with them.”
Global Wellness Day will take place on Saturday 8th June; for more information and to find out how you can get involved, visit globalwellnessday.org or contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
