Former station house transformed into hair & beauty boutique salon
A former railway building has been given a new lease of life, reopening as a boutique hair and beauty salon.
Mistley Station House in Essex has been transformed into The Station Hair and Beauty, housing owner Jessica Wilson and her growing team of stylists and beauticians.
Jessica and her partner Glynne Gerrard, an interior consultant, have carefully and sympathetically restored the Grade II listed building, which had been empty and boarded-up for over four years.
The location has been transformed into a tranquil and luxurious space, retaining many of the property's existing features, including the old ticket office which is now used as a dedicated colour bar.
“It was a big decision to take on the Station House, but I needed more space as I was turning bookings away working from home," comments Jessica. "People who come along say they love the interior and the fact we have managed to retain the period features in a very luxurious way. We can now offer so much more to our customers. I'm so glad we went for it. I love being here.”
