Charity world record attempt for nails!

In a bid to raise awareness of mental health issues, celebrity manicurist Stephanie Staunton has collated a group of nail techs to help her break the world record for painting nails.

Taking place on April 2nd 2017 at The InterContinental Hotel at the O2, Stephanie and around 350 other technicians who have offered their services will attempt to shape and polish 6078 sets of nails in green glitter (the colour of the mental health awareness ribbon) in eight hours. This figure was selected as it represents the number of individuals who lost their battle with mental illness in 2015.

Entry is priced as £5pp in cash, with all proceeds from the event to be split between MIND, a charity which provides counselling, advice and support to those suffering with mental health issues, and Nailing Mental Health – a charity Stephanie is creating after struggling with mental health issues herself – to help bridge the gap for individuals who find themselves on the waiting list for free counselling.

“There is a lot of negative stigma, ignorance, hate and misunderstanding surrounding mental health. Some people may feel like they cannot speak up when they are suffering which is something I want to change,” explains Stephanie. “If you need help, I want you to feel comfortable to say you need it. I hope this event will raise awareness of mental health and help prevent anyone else who is suffering from feeling lost and alone.”
