Beauty products needed to help homeless women

Award-winning MUA, Sacha Jones, is set to hold a workshop this month, created specifically to help homeless women in Birmingham.

Taking place at St. Martins Church in Digbeth, Sacha is the Business Coordinator at FAB The Salon and has got the team on board to offer beauty treatments on the day. As such, they are currently seeking support from beauty brands and companies to donate products to be used on the day.

Sacha decided to run the workshop after witnessing volunteering at Sifa Fireside, a charity which works to improve the health and inclusion for homeless people in Birmingham. “It's a safe space for women to come, as drop-ins can be very male dominated,” she explains. “I've also noticed that there's a lot more facilities for the men, such as a barber, and I wanted to create something where the women could get pampered too.”

In addition to beauty treatments, the workshop will also include a motivational speaker and serve to offer support and advice on how to get back into employment, as well as provide any essential items women attending may need, including sanitary products, underwear etc.

“One thing we'd love is face packs for the women, as this would be more efficient than facials, also gel polishes, nail polishes and nail files,” says Sacha. “However, any products would be a massive help and we'd utilise everything.”
