BABTAC (British Association of Beauty Therapy and Cosmetology) has been officially recognised as a pioneer of improving industry standards.
The not-for-profit organisation won the Training, Education and Professional Development Award for Professional Beauty at the Safety in Beauty Awards 2018, which commended businesses that demonstrate commitment, excellence, passion and dedication to advancing the industry.
BABTAC's win is in recognition of the plethora of campaigns that the organisation has undertaken over the last five years, including the encouragement of development of qualifications and campaigning for mandatory self-regulation.
“We are delighted to have been nominated for this award, and to be shortlisted and ultimately win was an absolute honour,” comments Lesley Blair, BABTAC Chair. “One of our core remits is to uphold and improve standards across the sector, and having this recognised by an independent organisation promoting Safety in Beauty is a real boost to our cause.”
